We are delighted to announce Festival Shakespeare du Quercy 2010, a three week celebration
of theatre in stunning open-air locations across southwest France.

Antic Disposition presents
THE IMPORTANCE
OF BEING EARNEST

Oscar Wilde

Jack Worthing has created an imaginary brother named Ernest, who frequently requires his presence in town – the perfect escape from tedious tea parties.

Algernon Moncrieff has invented a fictitious friend named Bunbury, who regularly summons him to the country – an excellent excuse to avoid dreary dinners.

However, these seemingly harmless deceptions cause colossal confusion when both men make proposals of marriage. But who, precisely, is engaged to whom?

Following the success of last year's Much Ado About Nothing, Antic Disposition presents an exuberant and hilarious production of Oscar Wilde’s much-loved romantic comedy the perfect entertainment for a summer evening!

The Hampstead Players present
ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA
William Shakespeare

Octavius Caesar demands Mark Antony's allegiance to Rome, but Antony's heart lies elsewhere. He passionately loves Cleopatra, the fascinating Queen of Egypt, whose splendour "beggars all description".

As a result, he and Cleopatra are brought into outright military conflict with Caesar. The consequences may be tragic for them, but can they triumphantly assert their freedom to love?

The Hampstead Players present Shakespeare's great romantic tragedy, as they return to Quercy to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their first tour to the region.
